2009/1966 Superformance GT40P/P2298—Black/Silver Livery, all period-correct. This GT40 Continuation Roller replicates the appearance and the menacing persona of the 1966 24 Hour Le Mans–winning GT40. If you’re perhaps confused by so many GT40 look-alikes, rest assured that your Superformance GT40 is an authentic GT40 Continuation Car. Superformance is the only make to be accorded GT40 chassis numbers. Superformance is an industry leader in the replica business, and has gone as original as possible without sacrificing quality or drivability. The steel monocoque chassis is built and prepped the same as the original GT40s. These GT40s are fitted with custom Bilstein coil-over type shocks with springs set up for an optimal blend of handling and ride. The brakes have been upgraded from the dated Girlings of the ’60s to Wilwood’s ‘Superlite Series’ of 4-piston calipers. It’s set up with factory air conditioning, which is deftly concealed in a reconstruction of the original dry-sump oil tank.
The Handsome Interior is period correct wtih Smith Gages, Leather Interior and a Removable Steering Wheel.

This is a continuation car manufactured by Superformance in 2006 according to the same original blueprints and specs as the cars produced in the 1960s. This is a true GT40 MkII and is registered in the Shelby Registry as chassis GT40P-2047. The GT40 became famous as the Ford that beat Ferrari at LeMans after a bitter rivalry between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari. In fact, Ford GT40s won LeMans every year from 1966-1969 and were driven by the greatest drivers of the era: Bruce McLaren, Derek Amon, Dan Gurney, Ken Miles. Mario Andretti, Bob Bondurant, Mark Donahue, and Phil Hill. The only modifications to this car from the LeMans racer are Willwood brakes (much better than the old Girlings), and a discreetly located A/C. 80% or so of the parts will bolt right onto a 1966 model. The car has an optional 427 FE Side oiler Engine with duel four barrel Carbs.. In a car that weighs only 2400lbs, the acceleration and performance are breathtaking.
