This a brand new Superformance MKIII 20th Anniversary edition roller. Full leather interior, with special edition diamond stitched seats and door pockets. Black with gold pinstriping around ghost stripes. Comes with custom painted 15" wheels, with Goodyear Billboard tires. Comes with soft top, tonneau cover & side curtains. This is a limited edition numbered car, car number 4 of 20 built.This is a continuation car manufactured by Superformance in 2006 according to the same original blueprints and specs as the cars produced in the 1960s. This is a true GT40 MkII and is registered in the Shelby Registry as chassis GT40P-2047. The GT40 became famous as the Ford that beat Ferrari at LeMans after a bitter rivalry between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari. In fact, Ford GT40s won LeMans every year from 1966-1969 and were driven by the greatest drivers of the era: Bruce McLaren, Derek Amon, Dan Gurney, Ken Miles. Mario Andretti, Bob Bondurant, Mark Donahue, and Phil Hill. The only modifications to this car from the LeMans racer are Willwood brakes (much better than the old Girlings), and a discreetly located A/C. 80% or so of the parts will bolt right onto a 1966 model. The car has an optional 427 FE Side oiler Engine with duel four barrel Carbs.. In a car that weighs only 2400lbs, the acceleration and performance are breathtaking. This is the perfect track day beast that will blow the doors of most modern supercars. It is also street legal! If you want to turn heads, this will do it better than anything else.
